Cheryl Cole Discusses Charity With Prince Charles

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole has met with Prince Charles to discuss her plans for a new charity.
Cole is set to launch a new foundation in aid of the Prince's Trust, a charity set up by the Prince of Wales in 1976 to help disadvantaged young people start their own businesses and get on their feet.
“Too many young people grow up thinking no-one cares and don’t believe they can make anything of themselves,” says Cole. "They have so much potential – but can go off the rails without the right care and support. I want my Foundation to help them realise their potential and get their lives on track.
“I have always been a great admirer of the work of the Prince’s Trust with disadvantaged young people across the UK. It’s the perfect charity for my Foundation to support.”

As reported by Homes of the Rich, the Saddle River, N.J. property dropped from that figure to $20 million and then slowly trickled down to the lower asking price. The property runs approximately 35,000 square-feet and has an incredible amount of amenities including a 50-seat home movie theater and majestic indoor pool. The deal was completed on Feb. 15 to a buyer that wishes to remain private.

{cooking up some love}
Oh for the love of love...
I am currently scrambling to find a recipe that would make husband feel good about the fact that we are buddies amongst a few other things. Pictured above is a beautiful cover of Gourmet magazine which seems to make me think of Valentine's Day. You see I associate Valentine's Day with cooking a nice meal. A few years back I made a very tasty recipe using mussels very close to this one and husband loved it. For us Valentine's Day is a reason to make something a little fancier than the norm and it is usually good that those meals are a little more time intensive because it always allows me to focus and think about the one I am cooking for. Plus the added bonus is that my husband would want nothing more than a really good meal so it is a win win situation....especially if he would come home with a jar of my favorite honey. (I am serious, I love gourmet raw honey)

Tom Morello Joins Protests In Wisconsin

The newly elected Republican governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker, has set his sights on forcing public workers to pay more for benefits, but the people of Wisconsin have gathered in throngs to protest what amounts to the elimination of most collective bargaining rights for public employees.
Protestors have been holding their ground at the states capital, Madison, where nearly 70,000 turned out for Saturday’s rallies for and against the bill.
Ed Schultz, host of The Ed Show on MSNBC TV, who is broadcasting live from the capital, explained the motivation behind the protests: “They’re fighting to hold what they have earned. They’re fighting to hold on to the American dream. The protesters just want fairness. They want the right to negotiate, the right to hang on to their hard-earned money.”
Perhaps Governor Walker – who has so far refused to change the pending policy – seems to have underestimated the power of the people, as 100,000 are expected to flood Madison on Monday.
Stepping up to join in the fervor and support hard working Americans are several celebrities.
Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine sent out a tweet February 19 which read: “The Battle of Madison, The Nightwatchman is on his way! Monday/100k expected. History in the streets. Be there, I will. It’s ON.”
Also lending their support are the 2011 Super Bowl Champions, the Green Bay Packers. Notably, players Brady Poppinga and Jason Spitz and former Packers Curtis Fuller, Chris Jacke, Charles Jordan, Bob Long and Steve Okoniewski, who issued the following statement:
“We know that it is teamwork on and off the field that makes the Packers and Wisconsin great. As a publicly owned team we wouldn’t have been able to win the Super Bowl without the support of our fans. It is the same dedication of our public workers every day that makes Wisconsin run. They are the teachers, nurses and child care workers who take care of us and our families. But now in an unprecedented political attack Governor Walker is trying to take away their right to have a voice and bargain at work. The right to negotiate wages and benefits is a fundamental underpinning of our middle class. When workers join together it serves as a check on corporate power and helps ALL workers by raising community standards. Wisconsin’s long standing tradition of allowing public sector workers to have a voice on the job has worked for the state since the 1930s. It has created greater consistency in the relationship between labor and management and a shared approach to public work. These public workers are Wisconsin’s champions every single day and we urge the Governor and the State Legislature to not take away their rights.”
Dave Zirin, sports editor for The Nation magazine and frequent guest on MSNBC, ESPN, and Democracy Now, spoke to Ed Garvey, the former head of the NFL Players Association, who told him:
“More Packers have now stood up for Wisconsin workers than DC democrats!”
But what Zirin, and most of the people of Wisconsin want, is the Packers union rep and star player, Aaron Rogers, to step up and lend his voice.

Ooh, we’re starting off with Twitch, starring Anthony! Three of the dancers will be graduating, so this is their last time dancing together after 10 years. They have a red-carpet stairway, and they’re dancing to the song “Paparazzi.” Anthony! is missing his shirt again. They have funky poses and Anthony! spins a lot, but it’s not an emotional number like their other ones, and the moves aren’t striking enough to make me love it as much as I want to. Nevermind, though, Travis screams that it was awesome. Kimberly saw diversity and training. Paula pushes Anthony! to do different variations of turns and tells the group to work on breaking the mold. They get 3 gold stars.

Drake Lends Voice to LeBron James' Animated Web Series

The show, which sees Drake starring as himself, focuses on James who plays four characters --
Kid LeBron, Athlete Lebron, Business LeBron and Wise LeBron -- inspired by a Nike advertising campaign. Though Drake is involved with the project, producer Ali Dee will handle music duties for the show.

Celebrity Support For Anti-Bloodsports Charity

A British charity has raised celebrity support against fox hunting and other blood sports.
Among the stars who have given their names to the League Against Cruel Sports’ campaigns are The Smiths’ Morrissey and Johnny Marr, as well as Ricky Gervais, Brian Cox, Gemma Atkinson, Tom Conti, Tony Robinson, Bill Oddie, David Jason, Alesha Dixon, former Dr Who Colin Baker and Watership Down author Richard Adams.
The League is a charity that brings together people who want to stop cruelty to animals in the name of sport. Established in 1924, the organization successfully uses lawful investigations, campaigning and lobbying to make a difference in the UK and around the world.
“Animals are not around just for people to abuse and kill in the name of so-called entertainment and sport,” says Ricky Gervais. “It’s beyond belief that it actually happens and that certain deluded people get enjoyment from it. I support the League and its campaigns to try and stop cruel sports.”
“The moral climate surely tells all intelligent people that the key to the extent of any person’s humanity is in their relationship to – and protection of – animals,” adds Morrissey, who is known for his hard-line animal activism. “People who hunt are under delusions of possession and property and divine right, and their debasement of human standards is always evident in their outrage at ever being questioned about their activities.”
