Kara wrote in the book that she was repeatedly molested when she was 11 by a family friend's son who was in his late teens. "I remember freezing and not knowing what to do," she wrote.
As her career as a songwriter (she has written for Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Pink) was taking off in the year 2000, Kara was again assaulted -- this time by a "fairly known producer"! Kara said she was invited to dinner, after which the man date-raped her. "Within a few hours, he was on top of me... speaking to me in Spanish, not a word of which I could understand," she wrote in the book.
She never reported the incident or told anyone for fear of ruining her career.
Kara also told the story of a "hugely successful artiste" who sexually harassed her. Kara was invited to Russia by this particular singer for a songwriting trip but what happened in the foreign land "consisted of watching Russian porn, scavenging around the kitchen for food and leering at two strippers."
She continued working with this artiste. "I wasn't gonna let this bastard deter me from doing the job," she wrote. However, when he got physical, Kara stopped working with him.
Kara's new memoir is definitely a shocker and has got the industry on a guessing game. Can you guess who the "producer" and "artiste" Kara is talking about?
