Get Justin Bieber's Sunglasses For Charity

Justin Bieber, Sarah McLachlan, David Foster and other great celebrities all have something in common: they’re helping Canadians rebuild their lives after losing their vision ? by donating their sunglasses to CNIB for the charity’s upcoming Shades of Fun auction on eBay.

Opening to the public at www.cnib.ca/auctions on May 13, the auction is part of CNIB’s Shades of Fun campaign, an annual fundraiser that encourages Canadians from coast to coast to slip on their sunglasses throughout May to protect their eyes from UV damage, and raise funds to support CNIB services for people with vision loss.

“Whether it’s the families of my Foundation or Canadians getting too much sun (yes it does shine a lot in Canada!), the well being of Canadians is important to me,” said multiple Grammy award-winning producer, David Foster, who was the first celebrity to lend his support. “Please wear your shades to shield yourself from the sun’s UV rays ? or the paparazzi.”

Foster is joined in his support of CNIB by other entertainers, athletes and media personalities Canada AM’s Jeff Hutcheson, actor Erin Karpluk (CBC’s “Being Erica”), Olympic Gold Medalist Christine Nesbitt, and musicians Jann Arden and Carole Pope, among others.

CNIB is a registered charity, passionately providing community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life.

“We’re thrilled and humbled by the generosity of these celebrities,” said Steve Lutz, Vice President of Fund Development, CNIB. “Their participation will go a long way toward raising awareness about vision health, and raising funds for CNIB services from coast to coast.”

Fans can view the full list of participating celebrities and their sunglasses at www.cnib.ca/auctions. The auction starts on May 13 at 4 p.m. EDT and is open to bidders across Canada and around the world. All proceeds will help support CNIB services for Canadians who are blind or partially sighted, like learning how to cook again, walk safely with a white cane or use a computer.
