Super 8 Movie Cast & Crew In Singapore

Director JJ Abrams arrived in Singapore with some of the cast of Super 8 yesterday to talk to journalists in the region about the film today.

With him were Kyle Chandler (of Friday Night Lights) and the young cast consisting of Elle Fanning and newcomers -- Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths and Ryan Lee.

The film has been shrouded in mystery ever since the teaser trailer was released late last year.

When asked if keeping his projects a mystery is an important element for him, JJ said he wants the audience to enjoy the film as things are revealed when watching it. "A lot of trailers these days show too much," he concluded.

Super 8 revolves around young filmmakers (aged around 12 to 13) in a small town who become witnesses to an extraordinary event while shooting a film during their school summer break in the year 1979.

The film is produced by Steven Spielberg and is set to open in Malaysia on 9 June.

Although the cast has yet to make their way around the island, Joel made this observation: "It's really humid here!"
